Timebites are really excited to be vising the Fossil Festival at Lyme Regis this year. It is going to be a fun packed weekend for anyone with an interest in fossils. It’s a free event for the whole family, with walks, talks, theatre, comedy, lots of exhibits and hands-on science. You can meet world-class experts and learn all about fossils, dinosaurs, geology, marine environments and the natural world in general. There are lots of activities and talks to take part in organised by visiting museums including, The Oxford University  Museum, The Sedgewick Museum, and Charmouth Heritage Centre as well as the expertise of the Palaeontological Association to name but a few. There are also some amazing art projects taking place over the weekend  with local Lyme Regis artists Darrell Wakelam, who will be working with children to create some large scale ammonite slices. Also Christine Allison, who will be showing children and adults how to use their fingers dipped in the blue lias clay to create  huge drawings of the wonderful and mysterious creatures that have been trapped in time in the clay of Lyme Regis. All of this plus a chance to browse around lots of interesting market stalls and of course enjoy some of our fossil shaped chocolates! Hope to see you there.
