The Cardomon with Cocoa Nibs Charnia chocolate fossil is an unusual but delicate twist of flavours. It is a clever combination of velvet, smooth white chocolate with cardomon that is then liberally sprinkled with crunchy cocoa nibs. The chocolate is then carefully crafted to create these beautifully intricate Charnia fossils. The Charnia’s delicate leaf like fronds are skillfully recreated to show the beauty of this special fossil. Each box contains 8 fossils measuring approximately 5.5 cm in length and weighing just over 5g – more than just a mouthful!
The Charnia Fossil is named after Charnwood Forest in Leicestershire, England. This is where the first fossilised specimen was found by schoolboy Roger Mason in 1957. The original fossil is now in Leicester Museum. It is one of the Ediacaran lifeforms. It has segmented, leaf-like ridges that branch alternately to the right and left.
